Every winter, the centre of Mulhouse is decked out in colourful fabrics and wooden chalets for one of the most original Christmas markets in Alsace. The 2026 edition runs from Friday 20 November to Sunday 27 December 2026, and our crêperie is just around the corner.

- Opening hours: the 2026 opening hours will be announced on 20 October 2026. To give you an idea, in 2025 the market was open Monday to Thursday 11:00–20:00, Friday 11:00–21:00, Saturday 10:00–21:00 and Sunday 10:00–20:00, closing at 18:00 on 24 and 27 December and opening at 12:00 on 26 December.
Where is the market?
In the heart of the historic centre, around the Temple Saint-Étienne on Place de la Réunion and on Place de la Concorde. In 2025, more than a hundred chalets were set up in the centre, most of them selling products made in Alsace.
The Christmas fabric, Mulhouse's signature
Mulhouse grew rich on printed textiles. In memory of this past, every year a designer creates an exclusive fabric, printed locally, which dresses the chalets, façades and streets throughout the market.
- 2026: "Jardin d'hiver" (Winter Garden), designed by the Strasbourg duo Vois là. Holly, fir trees, pine cones and flowers in an Art Nouveau-inspired style, in red, white and green.
- 2025: "Perles du Rhin", by Mulhouse designer Marie-Jo Gebel.
The fabric is sold by the metre and as finished items at the Boutique aux Étoffes, on the ground floor of the old Town Hall, Place de la Réunion, for the whole duration of the market.
What to eat and drink?
Mulled wine, bredalas (little Alsatian Christmas biscuits), manalas, gingerbread, pretzels, tarte flambée… And to warm up between chalets, a crêpe or a galette at our place, 14 rue des Tondeurs, just a few steps from Place de la Réunion.
Getting to the Christmas market
- By tram: the Porte Jeune stop, served by all tram lines, is a few minutes' walk away. The station is about ten minutes' walk from Place de la Réunion.
- By car: the P+Tram park-and-ride car parks (Nouveau Bassin and Université, €2 for the day including a return tram journey for everyone in the car) help you avoid the traffic jams. In the centre, the Porte Jeune, Centre, Réunion, Porte Haute and Maréchaux car parks are the closest. All our tips are in our guide to parking in Mulhouse.
