Driving into the centre of Mulhouse is easy, and you can often park for free if you know the right times and the right car parks. Here is the up-to-date guide for 2026.

In short: on-street parking is free from 12:00 to 14:00, from 19:00 to 9:00, on Sundays and on public holidays. The rest of the time, the red zone (zone rouge) gives you 30 free minutes, and the P+Tram park-and-ride lets you park and take the tram into town for €2 per car.

When is on-street parking free?

On-street spaces in the city centre (red, orange and green zones) are paid Monday to Saturday, 9:00–12:00 and 14:00–19:00. Outside these hours, they are free:

from 12:00 to 14:00, over the lunch break: ideal for lunch;
from 19:00 to 9:00, evenings and nights;
on Sundays and public holidays, all day.

The red zone has around 150 spaces spread near the shops and the station. It is free, but you still need to take a ticket from the parking meter by entering your number plate.

You pay at the parking meter (coins or bank card, including contactless) or with your phone.

Paying with your phone

The City of Mulhouse accepts three free apps: EasyPark, PayByPhone and Indigo Neo. With EasyPark, the City recommends the "Basic" mode, which has no service fee.

The market car park

The large car park of the Marché du Canal Couvert (covered market) is free on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays. On market days (Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday), 9:00–12:00 and 14:00–17:00, the first hour and a half is free, then it costs €1/h, for a maximum of 3 h.

P+Tram park-and-ride: €2 for the day

The cheapest option for a day in town: park at a park-and-ride and take the tram.

Nouveau Bassin (11 rue Hugwald), 230 spaces, Monday to Saturday 7:00–19:30;
Université (6 rue des Frères Lumière), 170 spaces, Monday to Saturday 7:00–19:00.

The P+Tram ticket costs €2 per car per day: it includes parking and a return tram journey for everyone in the vehicle, up to 7 people. Both car parks are served by tram line 2, a few minutes from the centre. Note that they are closed on Sundays and public holidays.

Covered car parks in the city centre

Around ten multi-storey car parks offer some 4,000 spaces with no time limit. In the main ones, a flat rate of €3 for 4 h applies (Centre, Porte Jeune, Réunion, Maréchaux, Porte Haute and Filature).

The Porte Haute car park is also the starting point of a free electric shuttle (Soléa) that loops around the centre, on Mondays 14:00–19:00 and Tuesday to Saturday 10:00–19:00, every 20 minutes.

Parking near the station

Gare P1 (30 rue Carl Hack) and Gare P2 (106 quai d'Alger): the first 30 minutes are free, handy for dropping someone off or picking them up. At P2, the daily rate is capped at €8.20.
Gare Porte de Bâle (28 rue de Bâle): €1.90 per hour, €13.90 for 24 h.
The red zone also has a few 30-minute free spaces near the station.

Getting to the Crêperie Crampous Mad

The crêperie is at 14 rue des Tondeurs, in the pedestrian zone, a stone's throw from Place de la Réunion. The nearest car parks are Maréchaux, Centre, Porte Jeune and Réunion, a few minutes' walk away. At lunchtime and in the evening, remember the on-street spaces, free from 12:00 to 14:00 and from 19:00.
